2022 CHATEAU DES JACQUES MOULIN-A-VENT

BURGUNDY, FRANCE

$15.00 BTL.

95 PTS – BH AT $38!  Once a place to rest along the pilgrims’ route to Santiago de Compostela, Chateau des Jacques was purchased by Maison Louis Jadot in 1996 and is today a beautiful property including famous vineyards mainly in Moulin-A-Vent.

Château des Jacques produces some of the most distinguished wines in Beaujolais, and the 2022 Moulin-A-Vent is no exception. Known as the “King of Beaujolais” for its richness and longevity, this wine is crafted from meticulously cultivated Gamay vines grown in granite-rich soils. Fermented with traditional Burgundian techniques, including partial aging in oak barrels, it bridges the gap between Beaujolais freshness and the complexity of fine Burgundy.

The 2022 Chateau des Jacques Moulin a Vent Grand Cru bursts with aromas of peonies, orange rind, exotic spices and dark berries. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, it’s deep and concentrated, with a rich core of fruit, tangy acids, powdery tannins and a long, sapid finish. Intensely flavored and incisive, at this early stage the 2022 looks to be one of the finest vintages of this cuvée in recent years.

2020 SAINT INNOCENT PINOT NOIR – MOMTAZI VINEYARD

Willamette Valley, Oregon

$13.95 BTL. / $83.70 6-PK / $167.40 CASE

RELEASE PRICE:  $50!  We have known Saint Innocent’s Owner & Mastermind Mark Vlossak since we opened our doors. Mark is probably the only Oregon winemaker that drinks more Burgundy than Oregon Pinot & it shows in his style. We always rank his wines at the top of the Oregon Pinot Noir food chain, but they are usually too expensive. Not anymore! We met with him just before the Snow & we must sadly report he has gone MAD! This offering is sooooo ridiculous that we are postponing having him committed until everyone gets a chance at it.

The adage is ‘When Opportunity Knocks’, well it is Knocking on your door with a Sledgehammer!

Momtazi Vineyard is located in the McMinnville AVA, 7 miles west of McMinnville, Oregon. The Pinot Noir grapes for this wine come from four blocks at the top of the vineyard on a steep, exposed and windblown hillside. Planted in 1999 and 2004 on thin, poor soils, the vines have a south and SW exposure at an elevation of 680-760′. The vineyard is certified biodynamic by Demeter. Momtazi Vineyard is located high above a warm valley that lies between the mouth of the Van Duzer Corridor and the Eola-Amity Hills. Momtazi is a textural and umami-driven wine, with lovely aromas of spice, smoky earth, and dried black fruit. It is quite elegant on the mid-palate with the finish blossoming to more floral notes with hints of cocoa powder.

ANCIENT LAKES AVA, WASHINGTON STATE

$10.00 BTL.

91 PTS. VINOUS @ $24! 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Crafted from the Evergreen Vineyard in the Ancient Lakes AVA. Evergreen is a sustainably farmed high-elevation vineyard with varied soil types, which contribute complexity to the wine. It was harvested early in the morning hours of September 9th and September 16th. Upon arrival at the winery, the Sauvignon Blanc was pressed, fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel to focus on the purity of fruit.

The Jaine Evergreen Sauvignon Blanc shows pale yellow with silver undertones in the glass. Aromas of lemongrass, pineapple and thyme are enhanced by plenty of freshness and purity of fruit. Bright citrus and mineral flavors, while delicate on the palate, showcase floral notes and steely tension. Finish is medium in length with mouthwatering acidity.
