BORDEAUX FEAST!!

04 BARRAIL CHEVROL FRONSAC

FRONSAC

$14.95 BTL./$80.00 6-PACK

Though it produces some of the most heralded and most expensive wines in the world – there are bargains to be found.  This year’s Numero Uno find is from the commune of Fronsac,  The 2004 Barrail Chevrol!  Terra Burdigala, the ancient Roman name for the Bordeaux region, is a joint venture between star winemaking consultant Stephane Derenoncourt and Francois Thienpont, whose family owns such fabled properties as Vieux Chateau Certan (one car payment) and Le Pin (the whole car).  Together, they focus on affordable yet high quality wines.  More forward than their 2005, this is a rich, impressively constituted wine with oodles of unctuous black cherry fruit wrapped nicely by spicy oak.  Full-bodied yet supple, this wine is textbook Left Bank Bordeaux.  Pour a big glass, start a fire (in the fireplace preferably), grab a good book & put on some Mingus….now your talkin’.

What is the wine advocate rating on this wine, as well as the others you have listed in this email? Do you ship wines?
